This review is for: Philips Lock - Smart Lock 1So I got a couple different Philips locks. Each of them has pros and cons.For this particular lock, I would say the biggest thing I like about it is the auto lock feature. There is a small sensor that you attach to the outer frame, adjacent to the lock. Once the door is is closed, you can program it to auto lock. I found that it takes a second or two, but then it usually locks. The only problem with it is that it's not 100% reliable. I have had times where it didn't auto lock. Basically that makes it 0% reliable to me, so I always have to turn around and listen for it to lock, then I manually check it. So that's a bit of a pain.The biggest thing I miss on this lock that is on my other Philips lock is the fingerprint function. With my other Philips lot, I can just use my thumbprint and get in the door super quickly. With this lock, I have to swipe on the keypad to get it to light up and activate, then type in my code and then press the check mark. Then it takes a second or so for it to unlock. That may not seem like a lot, but it's a bit tedious and takes longer to get in then I would like.Installation isn't too bad provided you study the installation video they provide and also the manual. It didn't really have any issues once I understood the installation process.It is a Smart Lock in that you can open the door with the app and see whether it is locked or unlocked in the app.My other Philips lock doesn't auto lock for 30 seconds, which is a real pain, so I'm glad this particular one will auto lock right away.There is a hidden keyhole to use the key if your battery's run out. I suggest getting one of those mechanical key safes that you can mount in some inconspicuous location outside to keep spare keys in. I've been using one for decades and they are priceless.

Installed on the house. Worked to replace a normal House J lock (non-mortise) and had no issues installing in about two hours. Had to finagle a bit to get it in, but worked without me calling a locksmith on my home door with a sub 2.5" thickness. Great software, and ease of use like everything from Phillips so glad, because my 75 year old parents have an easier way in now. normal key options still there so all is well.

Product presentation is very good, packaging /instructions and appearance is professional. Overall install time was right around 30 minutes including installing the door position sensor in the door jamb. Setup and programming the lock is fairly straight forward, learning curve of about 5-mins to figure out locking/unlocking using both the PIN code and app. A little disappointed that this lock doesn’t have a fingerprint unlock option, but I’m pleased overall with the functionality and ease of use.

I would recommend this Philips smart lock over a lot of the other brands that are on the market. Some of the random chinese brands I have used fall apart quickly and also let anyone open them with their finger which is obviously a security problem. This one functions very well and is easy to install and start using with no issues. It is also very solid and well made!
